Our Response to God

We are each in search of God. At the core of our being, God has created us to know Him and to love Him, and no matter what we have done in our lives, we retain the desire to be in relationship with the God who made us. God never ceases to call out for us: in our busy lives or our distracted hearts, we may forget Him or even try to hide from His face, but the God who loves us constantly calls us to encounter Him in the relationship known as PRAYER. As we learn to respond to His voice and answer His call of love, we respond to that love and learn to imitate it. Through the practice of prayer, our hearts are formed and transformed, so that we may learn more deeply of God's love for us and imitate His love in our love for others.

(adapted from the Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraphs 2566-67)

"Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful."
